High-Rise Honey Buttermilk Biscuits

We like things big in Texas. These biscuits will live up to the reputation.

High-Rise Honey Buttermilk Biscuits

2/3 cup of butter melted

1/3 cup of honey & 1 tbsp of honey

2 Tbsp of sugar

1 cup buttermilk

3/4 cup half n half plus 1 Tbsp for brushing tips of biscuits

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 1/4 tsp salt

5 cups of self rising flour

Mix together wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Whisk together dry ingredients. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix gently until it comes together. Pat into a 1 1/2-2 inch disc. Using a biscuit cutter, gently cut into 10-12 large biscuits. Brush the tops with half n half.

Bake @ 425 for 12-13 min until golden on top.
